City of Lake Wales, August 31, 2024 – BizLINC has just finished a performance audit, and the results are better than anyone expected. This shows not only how well BizLINC is doing but also how it’s opening doors for businesses in the Northwest Lake Wales community.
Even though things started a little slow, BizLINC has achieved impressive results. Over the past three years, the businesses they’ve helped have made more than $600,000. That’s a big deal, especially since, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), about 20% of new businesses fail in their first year, and 50% fail within five years. BizLINC has clearly beaten those odds, thanks to its support system and the hard work of the business owners.
BizLINC businesses have also created over 40 new jobs, all paying at least $15 an hour, which is helping the local economy grow and giving people more job opportunities.
Clem Johnson, the CEO of Polk Climate Care Solutions and a BizLINC member, said, "I'm grateful because BizLINC has done what’s been hard to do here: break down barriers and create opportunities for everyone. We need to support things that build up our community and tell the truth about our success."
Co-founder Derrick Blue added, “We expected the audit results to be exactly what they were. Often, people get caught up in the rumor mill and never do their own research, which is unfortunate. This audit confirms the hard work we've put in and highlights our success. It shows that when you have a solid support system and committed entrepreneurs, you can achieve great things. It’s a reminder that we can’t let negativity cloud our vision; instead, we should focus on the positive impact we’re making in our community.” This audit is more than just numbers—it shows that BizLINC is making a real difference. It proves that the support we offer is working and helping businesses grow.
BizLINC’s success story is a great example of how they’re helping local businesses thrive. By going above and beyond, BizLINC is creating a bright future for business growth and innovation in Lake Wales. As they keep building on this momentum, the future looks promising for the businesses in the region.
